Do I need a licence to ride the SX-250?
No. The SX-250 is EAPC-certified — a 250 W motor with assistance to 15.5 mph. In the UK that makes it legally a pedal cycle: no driving licence, no compulsory insurance, no road tax and no DVLA registration. Anyone aged 14 or over can ride one, including in cycle lanes.
What is the range of the SX-250?
40–50 miles per charge from the 48 V 26 Ah (1,248 Wh) lithium-ion battery. Range varies with rider weight, assist level, terrain and temperature. A full charge takes 6–7 hours, or about 2 hours from 30%, and costs about 17p off-peak.
What is the difference between the kits?
All four share the same motor, battery, brakes, frame, electrics and tech bar — the phone holder is a separate accessory. The difference is what is fitted. Classic — the SX-250 as standard. Tourer — adds a 22-litre colour-matched pod on a rear carrier. Explorer — adds a 52-litre lockable pod on a rear carrier. Cargo — adds a 108-litre cargo box with indicators and brake light built in, plus a rear sliding carrier. Prices are shown against each kit above.
Is the SX-250 eligible for the Cycle to Work scheme?
Yes. It is EAPC-certified and eligible for Cycle to Work schemes. Your employer has to be signed up to one — check which provider they use before ordering.
How long does delivery take?
Every SX-250 is built to order. Build takes about 7 working days, with delivery typically 2 weeks from the order date. That includes a personal white-glove handover and demonstration at your door.
What warranty does the SX-250 come with?
12 months, up to 4,971 miles (8,000 km). An extended warranty (£250) and a maintenance contract (£550)
can be added.
Owner reviews
Amazing service. Ordered and delivered within 7/8 days. Fast delivery and perfect tutorial on how to use the features by the delivery guy. I believe it was Nick, I might be wrong, but he was a legend in updating me with timing of delivery to showing me all the main features and a test ride.
Staff very friendly and helpful. Gave me all the information I needed. So happy with bike would highly recommend 👍
From the moment I got my bike, I’ve been obsessed — smooth ride, stylish design, and super reliable. Whether I’m commuting or just cruising, it turns heads and makes every trip feel effortless. … Massive shoutout to Ruth, Kayleigh and Josh for their top-tier service. They went above and beyond to make everything seamless. It’s rare to find a team that treats you like more than just a customer.
